Lost Ark Adds Casual Guardian Raid Mechanic And New Anti-Bot & RMT Measures

Alongside the launch of the Competitive Proving Grounds, this week’s Lost Ark update also introduced new content for PvE players along with new bot and fraud prevention measures.
Casual PvE players can now take on more relaxed and forgiving versions of Guardian Raids and still get honing rewards with the new Scale of Balance mechanic. Basically, it scales a characters’ stats to match the level of the Guardian they’re taking on and also adjusts the raid difficulty depending on the number of participating players. Note that the mechanic will only be available for a limited time so try to make the most of it.
“Players will be able to challenge Helgaia, Frost Helgaia, Lumerus, Ur’Nil, Vertus, Chromanium, Nacrasena, Dark Legoros, Icy Legoros, Calventus, and Levanos! This event will last for roughly a month, and players with item level 250 or above will be able to participate.”
Meanwhile, Amazon Game Studios has stepped up their efforts to crack down on bots and real money trading with a new system designed to prevent illicit activities.
“In this update, we’ve included a new prevention system to crack down on bots and fraudulent purchases. Players who have a Steam account in good standing and have met the small purchase requirement needed to use Steam’s social systems shouldn’t be impacted. Players who have not met this ‘Trusted’ status through Steam or Lost Ark will have reduced access to a small number of social and economic systems.”
With the new system in place, players that don’t have the Trusted status will have smaller daily spending limits on Steam. They also won’t be able to initiate player trades, send in-game gifts, send in-game mail with attachments, and convert their Royal Crystals to Gold.
“Our goal is for players to always enjoy their time in Lost Ark, safe from users engaging in fraudulent purchases or the negative impact bots have on both the economy and player experience,” said Amazon. “The only dangers in Arkesia should be the Demonic hordes, voracious wildlife, and colossal Guardians.”
The team says that they’ve also updated their anti-cheat programs in line with their ongoing efforts to prevent bots and cheating.
