Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2 Microsite Is Now Live, NA Data Center Expansion Delayed

The official microsite for Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2: Buried Memory is now live with more information on the fantasy MMORPG’s next major update. As with previous teaser sites, the new one offers a brief rundown of the upcoming patch’s new main scenario quests and other new content, including the new Manderville weapons, Pandaemonium chapters, and Allagan Tomestones of Causality.
Players can expect to see the new Patch 6.2 micro-site updated with new information as they’re released, particularly after Naoki Yoshida’s next Live Letter from the Producer which should be coming any minute now.
Meanwhile, Square Enix has delayed its plans to expand the North American data center due to the current shortage of microchips. Like in Europe and Japan, the North American region was supposed to get a new data center and new servers this August to help spread out the population and reduce the strain on the existing servers. That’s now been moved to sometime in November. Phase 2 of the expansion, however, which will add even more servers to the new data center is still on track for spring or summer next year.
