Final Fantasy XIV Producer Naoki Yoshida has officially revealed the next patch coming to the long-running fantasy MMORPG in his latest Live Letter from the Producer. Patch 6.2: Buried Memory will naturally feature new main scenario quests as well as the new The Fell Court of Troia dungeon, more Hildibrand and Tataru side quests, an unrevealed Trial, and the ability to unlock legendary Manderville weapons.

The patch will also open up the new Pandaemonium Abyssos raid with the Savage version coming one week after its release. Why the delay? Well, the community seems to be torn between wanting to delay the release of Savage versions and leaving it as it is. The team will be gathering feedback in Patch 6.2 which will determine whether succeeding Savage versions will be permanently moved to a week after the raid’s release.

Yoshida also shared details on the new variable difficulty Variant Dungeons (formerly known as Criterion Dungeons) and the Island Sanctuary feature. The Island Sanctuary will allow players to customize and build various structures on their very own island. They’ll also be able to gather island-exclusive materials, grow crops, craft tools, collect and care for various creatures, and export material “handicrafts”. Both features will also be coming to the game in Patch 6.2.
