Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.3 "The Promise of Tomorrow" Arrives August 5, 2025

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV will roll out Patch 7.3 “The Promise of Tomorrow” on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The date was revealed during the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE stream, alongside a new trailer highlighting what’s next for the long-running MMORPG.

Patch 7.3 continues that cadence with fresh main scenario quests and the second leg of the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid series—an ongoing crossover that pays tribute to 2002’s Final Fantasy XI. Players can also look forward to a new Deep Dungeon, updates to the crafting-focused Cosmic Exploration mode, a Crystalline Conflict map for PvP fans, and a variety of smaller quality-of-life tweaks.

Highlights launching in Patch 7.3

  • New Main Scenario Quests – Continues the post-expansion storyline.
  • Alliance Raid: Echoes of Vana’diel, Part 2 – “San d’Oria: The Second Walk”
  • Dungeon: The Meso Terminal
  • Trial – Normal and Extreme versions (details under wraps).
  • Unreal Trial: The Wreath of Snakes (Unreal) – A level-100 rematch against Seiryu.
  • Treasure Dungeon: Vault Oneiron
  • Duty Support Expansion – AI companions now available in Cutter’s Cry.
  • PvP Series 9 – Includes action balance tweaks, new ranked tiers, and the Bayside Battleground arena for Crystalline Conflict.
  • Miscellaneous Improvements – Chat bubbles, Phoenix Down adjustments, Group Pose additions, and other quality-of-life changes.

Content slated for Patches 7.31 and 7.35

  • Cosmic Exploration Planet: Phaenna (7.31) – A fresh destination for crafters and gatherers.
  • Weapon Enhancement Quests: Phantom Weapons (7.31)
  • Deep Dungeon: Pilgrim’s Traverse (7.35) – The series’ first completely new roguelike challenge since 2022’s Eureka Orthos.
  • Allied Society Quests: Yok Huy (7.35)
  • Further Hildibrand Adventures (7.35) – More of the game’s long-running comedic side story.

With a global player count that now tops 30 million accounts, Final Fantasy XIV continues to rely on these robust patch cycles to retain veterans and entice newcomers alike. The August update should keep raiders, crafters, and lore hunters busy while the community looks ahead to whatever Patch 7.4 brings. While the playerbase has dipped a bit post-Dawntrail, the game remains one of the most popular MMORPGs in the West.
