Elder Scrolls Online’s first big update of the year is finally here as Scribes of Fate officially launches on PC and Mac alongside Update 37. The Scribes of Fate DLC adds two new dungeons, Bal Sunnar and Scrivener’s Hall, and kicks off ESO’s Shadow Over Morrowind narrative. It also marks ZeniMax’s transition from the traditional year-long story arcs to longer, more permanent content.

“Within these dungeons players will discover two unique stories that kick off the larger Shadow Over Morrowind adventure, leading into the upcoming Necrom Prologue and Necrom Chapter release later this year,” says ZeniMax. “Both dungeons can be attempted in normal, veteran, and hard mode difficulties and feature unique rewards and Achievements, including six new item sets, two monster sets, and a host of collectibles including a new skin, emotes, and more.”

As with previous update and chapter releases, Scribes of Fate launches with a free base game update in tow. Update 37 introduces a long list of combat adjustments with a particular focus on reducing the high end damage of Light Attack Weaving while reducing the damage gap between novice and expert users. Tank skills such as blocking and soft taunts have also been tweaked to make it easier for tanks to hold the line while their allies move in for the kill.

Both the DLC and base game update will be making their way to consoles on March 28th. You’ll find the full release notes on the Elder Scrolls Online official site.
