With less than two weeks until the launch of Elder Scrolls Online’s first DLC of the year, ZeniMax has taken time to walk players through the changes arriving with its accompanying base game update in a new developer blog.

The Scribes of Fate DLC is set to launch in a few weeks’ time alongside Update 37 which promises a slew of quality of life improvements, including screen narration support for visually impaired players. While screen narration will work with most UI elements in the fantasy MMORPG upon its release, it won’t be available for scrying and lockpicking as well as interactions with objects and NPCs… yet. The team says that they plan to expand on the new accessibility feature in future update.

The base game update will also give players the option to hide their character’s shoulder gear through the use of a new cosmetic collectible that will function the same way as the one used to hide headgear. Players will be able to purchase the collectible from the Impresario using event tickets that can be earned from in-game events, with the next event reportedly being the annual April Fool’s Day Jester Festival.

In addition to the ability to cosmetically hide shoulder armor, players can also look forward to target marker improvements, adjustments to daily and weekly reset timers, and housing-related updates.

Scribes of Fate and Update 37 arrives on March 3rd on PC and March 28th on consoles and will kick off ESO’s new Shadow Over Morrowind narrative arc. In the meantime, you can learn more about what’s coming with the free base game update on the Elder Scrolls Online official site.
