Lost Ark Trailer And Closed Beta Details Unveiled At Media Event

Lost Ark was shown at a media event earlier today, during which Smilegate unveiled a new, eight-minute trailer that shows off many of the features that will be present in the Closed Beta that is launching later this month. The trailer is quite impressive and shows off a world that feels at times as if it is as cinematic as it is breathtaking.
Steparu is reporting that specifics about the Closed Beta were also unveiled at the media event. There will be three Closed Beta tests and then a Final Test before launch. The level cap for Closed Beta will be 30. Four types of quest abd three types of dungeon (Ark, Normal, and Party) will be available. There will be three Ark dungeons, seven raids, and even hidden quests. Chaos Gates will be in-game and support up to 30 players. There will be playable instruments. Players can also look forward to hidden Easter Eggs.
At the beginning of Closed Beta, the game will only support DirectX 9.0c. A DirectX 11 update will follow in the future. The team also addressed concerns about the Unreal Engine 3, stating that it is focused on maximizing the potential of Unreal Engine 3 rather than worrying about what could be done with Unreal Engine 4. It is possible that various Unreal Engine 4 features may be added in at a later date.
Smilegate also went on record stating that it is aware that players are concerned about pay-to-win and that they would prefer a game with a box fee and subscription. However, at this time, it seems likely that the game will be free-to-play.
