Lost Ark just opened up a new tropical adventure island map with the release of its major update of the year. The update, dubbed Fire up the New Year, introduced the new Lai Lai island map, complete with tropical island activities for players to participate in.

Those still enjoying the wintry activities in Freja’s Island needn’t fret as the icy island will remain open until the February update arrives. The Maze Garden, however, has been replaced by a new mini-game called Toto’s Ice Castle, which will be open every even hour but can only be entered once per day.

“Players will transform into Mokoko when entering the castle,” Amazon explains. “Tokens from Freja Island can be spent at the event shop, which has a variety of valuable items and holiday-themed rewards that can be earned! Special event feast items will also be available during the event.”

In addition to the new adventure island, Lost Ark’s January update also introduces the Inferno difficulty mode of the Brelshaza legion raid. To take on Brelshaza in Inferno difficulty, players must have a minimum item level of 1560 and must have a full build in the Book of Coordination. Rewards for successfully completing the challenge include special achievements and titles as well as trade material for the Phantom Legion Commander raid and Captain’s reward chests.

The full patch notes can be found on the Lost Ark official site if you want to dive into the details.
