Inactive Lost Ark Accounts Were Inadvertently Caught In Last Week’s Banwave

Last week, Amazon Game Studios dropped the banhammer on Lost Ark botters which hit two-thirds of the MMORPG’s population. Apparently, there were a lot of collateral damages as the studio began receiving a flood of complaints from legitimate players who were inadvertently hit by the massive banwave.

“We’re getting a ton of posts from people that have not played the game in several months claiming that they have been notified that their accounts were banned,” revealed Amazon. The majority of complaints were from players who logged-in for just a few hours last year, most of which are more concerned about how the ban will affect their Steam accounts’ good standing rather than being banned itself.

The good news is that Amazon is aware of the situation and are now working to restore all erroneously banned accounts. “Following a recent wave of bot bans, we’ve seen an increase in ban appeals from players who have been incorrectly impacted by these bans,” acknowledged the studio. “We have determined the error that triggered these false bans, and are actively working on reversing them for all affected legitimate players regardless of whether a support ticket who has been filed.”

Amazon, however, still suggests that players who were wrongfully banned file a support ticket to speed up the process of restoring their accounts and have all penalties reversed. Meanwhile, Lost Ark’s population has been steadily growing again with a 24-hour peak concurrency just shy of 180,000 players, up from the 101,000 daily concurrent players that it logged right after the banwave hit.
