Lost Ark Is Introducing A New Storyline, New Islands, And A New Endgame Raid This Month
Lost Ark is due for a massive update this month as part of Amazon Game Studio’s plans to bring the western version of the Korean fantasy MMORPG up to par or as close as they can to existing versions in other regions. The update will introduce the new Kadan storyline which will include the new Isteri and Illusion Bamboo islands, new quests, and new cinematics as revealed in a new preview blog:
“Experience a new storyline, complete with its own quests, new islands, and cinematic moments. These quests will include a cast of new and returning characters as you learn more about the Sidereals and search for the legendary Kadan, the first Guardian slayer, in your journey to find the final Ark.”
Players will be able to access the new content upon completing the Feiton quests as well as the “Yorn – Let There Be Light”, “Whispering Islet – Start of Our Story”, and the “Illusion Bamboo Island – End of the Trials” quests. The new Isteri and Bamboo islands content is recommended for players with item levels of at least 1100.
The team will also be introducing the new endgame Abyss Raids as part of the update. These new raids are similar to Guardian Raids and are basically multi-phase, challenge-mode group encounters where players can earn weekly rewards. These Abyss Raids are similar to Guardian Raids and will put 8 players against a much tougher boss than a typical Guardian.
Amazon promises to release a full development roadmap in the near future but it’s probably safe to say that we can expect to see more major updates coming in the next few months.
“While we launched just a few short weeks ago, fans of Lost Ark know that there is a wealth of content present in the Korean version that has yet to make its way to the western shores of Arkesia,” said Amazon. “We’ll be working closely with Smilegate RPG to infuse content into the western version at a steady cadence— starting in March!”
