At Tencent Games Carnival development studio Smilegate announced that Lost Ark's first Chinese CBT will begin some time in the first half of 2016. The testing phase will follow shortly after Korea's first closed beta test. No announcement regarding a Western release, yet.

Lost Ark is an action MMORPG with gorgeous visuals, stylized combat, and dynamic environments. Boasting eighteen classes, players will explore an expansive world by traveling between islands aboard their own boat—defeating creatures and bosses alike.

The Tencent Games Carnival trailer shows off intense combat as well as harvesting and gathering, from chopping trees to casting a line in a lazy river. Apparently, minigames will also be gracing Lost Ark's world, such as an in-game TCG and a barrel-chugging competition with one patron cheering players on.

We were already impressed with Lost Ark's 20 minute G-Star 2014 trailer, one of the best gameplay compilations I've seen. Hopefully the West doesn't have to wait too long to beta test Lost Ark.
