Lost Ark Previews New Arcanist Class Arriving In Next Week’s Update
Lost Ark will be welcoming a new class next week in the form of the magical card-throwing Arcanist. The Arcanist will be joining the Bard and the Sorceress as the third advanced class for the Mage.
“The Arcanist imbues special cards with her Magick and uses them for a wide variety of effects. From slicing up enemies with a deluge of thrown cards to summoning powerful Magick attacks or team effects from the cards themselves, the Arcanist has a trick up her sleeve for every situation.”
The Arcanist has three different types of skills: Normal, Stacking, and Ruin. Normal skills fill up the Specialty Meter which will then allow players to draw one of two preset cards and trigger its effects. Stacking and Ruin skills, on the other hand, work in tandem to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies. Stacking skills that successfully hit enemies will place up to four stacks on an enemy which can then be consumed for extra damage by landing a Ruin skill.
The new class will be arriving on July 20th alongside multiple events to help newly-rolled Arcanists get off to a running start and quickly reach Item Level 1370.
Meanwhile, players hoping that Smilegate will eventually add a DPS meter will be disappointed to know that the developers have absolutely no plans to implement the feature. “There are no plans to add a DPS meter in game at this time,” said a spokesperson for the studio. “The team is aware of the feedback but SG feels strongly against adding DPS meters in game.”
