Guild Wars 2's next expansion, Path of Fire, is less than a month away! As announced earlier, tomorrow is GW2's Open Stress Test! Gaile Gray, the Communications Manager for ArenaNet, took to the Guild Wars 2 Forums to announce it once again, reminding players that the stress test starts on August 31st, at 2:00 PM Pacific Time.
We will be conducting a brief stress test for Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire on Thursday, August 31st, beginning at 2:00 PM Pacific time (-7 GMT). Anyone with a Guild Wars 2 account is welcome to participate. To join the stress test, please log in to your Guild Wars 2 game account, create a new “Demo” character on the character selection screen, and head into the Crystal Oasis. Play as you normally would play, but because this is a stress test, be prepared for possible in-game performance issues as the testing takes place.

Additionally, she also remarked that the developers intend for the test to run for "a couple of hours," and they hope to enable the new and upcoming Elite Specs, which we previously talked about here. All characters created during this Stress Test will not be carried over, and as Gray put it, they shall "head into a well-deserved retirement."
