Guild Wars 2 Unveils Its Last Three “Visions of Eternity” Elite Specs

ArenaNet has pulled back the curtain on the final trio of elite specializations coming with Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, the next expansion for the decade-old MMO. Long-time players will recognize the pattern: every expansion adds a fresh twist to existing professions, and today’s reveal completes the nine-profession set with new options for the elementalist, engineer, and revenant.

Elite specializations reshape how each class plays by introducing unique mechanics, weapons, and trait lines. The concept debuted in 2015’s Heart of Thorns and has since become a headline feature for every expansion. With Visions of Eternity due to launch on October 28, today’s announcement gives theorycrafters plenty to chew on ahead of a public beta scheduled for 20-27 August.

The New Elite Specs at a Glance

  • Evoker (Elementalist) – Builds a bond with animal “familiars” tied to each element. Choosing an element through the F5 key summons a companion (fox, otter, hare, or toad) and shortens that element’s attunement cooldown. Familiars gain basic and empowered attacks that charge as you use matching weapon skills.
  • Amalgam (Engineer) – Bonds with a shapeshifting ooze called “mercurial mold.” Standard toolbelt skills are replaced by pick-and-choose morph abilities, letting the slime form shields, spikes, or weapons on demand. The elite skill, Evolve, fuses engineer and mold temporarily for bonuses that change according to your selected morphs.
  • Conduit (Revenant) – Channels the long-missing Mists entity Razah, offering a single versatile legend instead of the usual dual pairing. A new resource, affinity, extends the duration of a power-up called Cosmic Wisdom. Conduits also unlock Legendary Entity Stance, which adds extra effects if a related legend is slotted in the other slot.

For players keeping score, this announcement follows earlier reveals for the mesmer, ranger, guardian, thief, necromancer, and warrior. With the full roster now unveiled, the community’s next stop is the beta, where balance feedback historically shapes the final launch versions.
