ArenaNet has rolled out its previously-announced Guild Wars 2 balance update despite the strong push back from the game’s community. And by strong, I mean toxic remarks, calls for developers to be fired, and even death threats.

The extremely negative reaction to the update is largely due to ArenaNet’s decision to forego the traditional design notes, that provided in-depth explanations for major changes, in favor of a general overview of the update’s contents.

As for the rest of the update, players can also expect better rewards for End of Dragons Strike Missions which include increased weekly gold earnings, one Antique Summoning Stone per week, and a chance at obtaining the Imperial Everbloom Sprout tradable container. The update also introduces the Emboldened mode for raids which adds a stackable buff that significantly increases a raid group’s health, damage, and healing whenever they fail to complete a raid.

The update also revamps the Hearts and Minds story encounter, increases the Twisted Marionette rewards, adds new weapon skins, and introduces various quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. The full patch notes can be found on the Guild Wars 2 official forums.
