Guild Wars 2 Outlines Enhancements Coming To Strike Missions, Raids, And Professions

The Guild Wars 2 dev team has admitted that they’re keeping a few secrets from players in their latest state of the game update. Don’t worry, the secrets are actually of the good kind and involves better Strike Mission rewards, skill buffs, and core improvements.
On Strike Missions, ArenaNet reports that the normal and challenge mode versions have fulfilled their intended purposes to increase player participation and put veteran players’ skills to the test. That being said, they’re looking to increase the rewards gained from Strike Missions and will be doubling the amount of gold that players earn from them every week.
The team will also be giving professions a significant balance pass in this month’s update which includes changing unique stacking attribute bonuses to grant boons instead. They’ll also be expanding options for key boons such as Mighty, Fury, Alacrity, and Quickness and will be adding new weapons, skills, and traits for every profession in the game.
The core gameplay experience will also be getting some love with various quality-of-life changes including the removal of armor repairs, new buffs for repairing, and making it easier to join raids. The devs will also be adding a new Emboldened mode for raids that progressively increases a player’s health, damage, and healing output every time they fail an encounter.
“Each week, one of the seven existing raid wings will be set to Emboldened mode. Upon entry, raid members will gain their first stack of the Emboldened enhancement, which grants additional health, damage output, and improved healing to aid in their battle against each boss,” explains ArenaNet.
“Each time the raid wipes against that boss, they’ll receive another stack of Emboldened, granting up to 100% additional health, 50% increased damage, and 50% increased healing output. Upon defeating the boss, the Emboldened stack will reset to one,” says the studio.
The team notes that the Emboldened mode will be optional and can be turned off by interacting with the Emboldened mote inside the raid.
