Guild Wars 2 Shows Off The Guardian’s Crippling Dual Pistol Skills In A New Teaser Trailer

It’s not everyday that you see a ranged tank class, let alone a dual pistol-wielding one. ArenaNet, however, is determined to breath new life into Guild Wars 2’s classes in ways we wouldn’t expect in its upcoming weapon proficiency update which will see pistols added to the heavily armored Guardian’s arsenal of weapons.
“It’s the guardian’s turn to step into the limelight, wielding not one, but two pistols as their new weapons to combat the growing threat of the hostile Kryptis,” the developer teased. “The pistols are a pair of ranged weapons that specialize in dealing condition damage, allowing the guardian to inflict bleeding and burning on their enemies from a distance with ease.”
With his new dual-wield pistols, the Guardian will be able to fire “bullets of justice” that will pierce through enemies to hit up to five targets and inflict bleeding. The Guardian can also place a symbol on the ground and shoot through it to add burning and ignite effects that will deal additional damage. When used with the Hail of Justice skill and with the right positioning, they can fire a volley of projectiles at groups of enemies to deal a large amount of damage in a short period of time.
You’ll be able to get hands on time with the Guardian’s new pistol skills along with all the other new class and weapon combos in the Expanded Weapon Proficiency beta test later this month. The test will kick off at 9 a.m. PST on November 28th and will end at 10 p.m. PST on December 3rd.
ArenaNet will be paving the way for the beta test with a big information dump in a livestream scheduled for November 27th. In the meantime, you can watch the Guardian rain fiery crippling bullets at his enemies in the new teaser trailer below.
