Cronous Is Celebrating Its 14th Year Online This Month

Those of you that remember Cronous probably remember it as "that outdated dungeon crawler MMORPG that Aeria Games launched in 2008 and hosted for a short period of time before shutting it down." However, in South Korea, it has more clout, having originally launched way back in 2002. Several events are being held this month in celebration of the milestone, including a bingo event, a "new member support" event, and an event that gives players a chance at winning premium currency in exchange for simply commenting on a Facebook post each day. There will be 14 events in total, but only the first three of those events running currently. Additionally, the 29th event server opened on December 1st, offering an experience rate 14x higher than the game's normal servers.
Meanwhile, the global service's Season IX Elite Server is currently open, allowing players to level and gear a character up approximately 20 times faster than normal. Those that want to take part can win various items by being the first to different milestones. Players will even be given a chance to transfer their characters off the server. Transfers are free up to "Master 100 ~ Reclass 120," but the transfer of characters beyond that level will cost you real money.
It's insane to think that Cronous has been online for 14 years now. More games have risen and fallen in that time than I can count. Here in the West, the game was on the map and back off it again in the blink of an eye, most players having disregarded it as "ugly" and "outdated." Nevertheless, it has lasted a staggering 14 years. Certainly, that's cause for celebration.
