Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 2 Promises To Bring Back Cut Karlach Epilogue Content

With Baldur’s Gate 3’s massive first update now live on the servers, Larian Studios is now gearing up for the release of patch number two, which they teased is “right around the corner”. In spite of the first patch’s massive size, it lacked any new content updates and focused mainly on bug fixes and various gameplay improvements.
The team, however, has confirmed that new content will be coming to the party-based RPG in the second patch in the form of a new Karlach epilogue scene. They’ll also be adding more Karlach moments in the first two acts of the game.
“[…] We’re adding better closure to the story’s final act in the form of a more fleshed-out ending for Karlach - something many of you have been asking for,” Larian said. “We’ve started expanding the epilogues and you’ll see the first results of that in Patch 2 with the addition of a new optional ending with Karlach. It’s fiery, poignant, and gives her the ending she deserves.”
The scenes were apparently cut prior to the game’s release, not because the team didn’t have time to finish them but because they felt that it didn’t meet their standards and were afraid that the ending cinematic would drag on longer than necessary. The community, however, apparently felt differently which is why the trimmed scenes are making their way back to the game.
Larian Studios also promised substantial performance improvements and even more bug fixes coming in Patch 2.
