Wuthering Waves 2.7 Locks in October Launch, Adds New Story Acts and Quality-of-Life Tweaks

Wuthering Waves will roll out Version 2.7, titled Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides, on October 9. In a recent livestream, China-based developer Kuro Games detailed a slate of additions ranging from fresh story chapters to in-game planning tools designed to smooth character progression across PC and mobile.
The free-to-play action RPG has earned a following for its parry-centric combat and free-form traversal. This update keeps that momentum, pairing two new Resonators with deeper endgame challenges while also cleaning up long-requested UI pain points. The game has been averaging ~11,500 players over the last 30 days on Steam alone.
2.7 Key Updates:
- Main story content: Chapter II Acts X and XI plus the after-story quest “A Stranger in a Strange Land.”
- New Resonators: Galbrena and Qiuyuan debut through staggered Convene banners.
- Additional Echoes: Nightmare variants of Viridblaze Saurian and Roseshroom, alongside the Flamewing’s Shadow Sonata Effect that boosts critical and Fusion damage.
- Tactical Hologram challenge: Lioness of Glory adds a fresh arena for high-level players.
- Resonator Ascension Planner: an in-game tool that auto-generates upgrade roadmaps covering weapons, echoes, and skills.
- Journey Log: revamped quest log splits chapters into clear acts, with space for side missions in future patches.
- UI updates: event menu now separates Featured, Recurring, and Permanent activities; Gallery gains an Enemies tab; Terminal Swap feature introduces the “Daylight Flintstone” Terminal.
- Accessibility options: global visual filter and “Eye Comfort” settings for color temperature and brightness.
- New weapons: Lux & Umbra and Emerald Sentence headline the upcoming weapon banners.
- Limited-time events: Lament Recon combat trials, Freeze Frame photography challenges, and more 7-day login rewards.
