Wuthering Waves 2.6 Brings New Story Arcs, Sanguis Plateaus, and Long-Awaited Flight

Kuro Games has outlined what players can expect when Wuthering Waves rolls out Version 2.6, “By Sun’s Scourge, By Moon’s Revelation,” on August 28. The free-to-play mobile action RPG, known for its snappy combat and post-cataclysmic open world, will expand its second story chapter, add a fresh explorable region, and finally let everyone take to the skies in Jinzhou and Black Shores without hunting for high ground.
The reveal came during a preview livestream that also confirmed two new five-star Resonators and an extensive round of quality-of-life tweaks. Below is a distilled look at the update’s biggest additions and changes.
- Main quests – Chapter II continues with Acts VIII and IX, titled “By Sun’s Burning Hand” and “By Moon’s Fated Light.”
- New region – Sanguis Plateaus, a crimson-hued zone packed with fresh Echoes and secrets to catalogue.
- Two new Resonators – Augusta anchors Phase I of the character banner, while Iuno headlines Phase II. Signature weapons arrive alongside each banner.
- Fresh Echoes – Creatures such as The False Sovereign, Lady of the Sea, and a lineup of “Nightmare” variants join the databank, along with two Phantom Echoes.
- Sonata effects – Crown of Valor and Law of Harmony introduce new set bonuses geared toward shield play and heavy-attack builds.
- Tactical Hologram: Lady of the Sea – A new high-end combat challenge for players who have been farming the current sim battles.
- Events – Area exploration, tower-defense, photo challenges, and a seven-day login campaign that hands out 10 Radiant Tide and 10 Forging Tide pulls.
- Flight overhaul – A single button press now launches gliding anywhere in open space. No need to climb first.
- Exploration tools – Mineral nodes appear on the map, and creature-collectible tracking extends to Viewpoints, Blobflies, and Frostbugs.
- Permanent modes refreshed – Hazard Tower adds Floors 3 and 4, while Whimpering Wastes gains a flexible “Burning Waves” trigger tied to combat momentum.
- Interface upgrades – One-click reward claims, new keyboard shortcuts on PC, and a dedicated weapon tab in the Gallery.
- Graphics options – Expanded frame-generation support including AMD FSR 3, Intel XeSS 2, and Nvidia DLSS 4 with up to 4× frame generation on supported cards.
While Wuthering Waves is a mobile game first and foremost, it does have a PC client on Steam where the game averages 9,036 concurrent players.
