Sun and Moon Arrive in Wuthering Waves Version 2.6

As previously announced, Kuro Games has dropped Version 2.6 for its open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves, an update the studio calls “By Sun’s Scourge By Moon’s Revelation.” The patch adds two five-star Resonators, opens a fresh explorable region, and pushes the main storyline another step forward. Servers were taken down for routine maintenance earlier today and players who log in before the next update can collect a small pile of Astrite as compensation.

With the launch of 2.6, Wuthering Waves saw a big jump in active players. The game hit 21,306 peak concurrent players on Steam on launch day, about double the usual week day peak.

Version 2.6 Highlights at a glance

• Two new 5-star Resonators
  Augusta (Electro, Broadblade) – heavy-hitting DPS with damage amplification tools.
  Iuno (Aero, Gauntlets) – support healer who buffs Heavy Attacks and Concerto effects.
• Matching 5-star weapons – Thunderflare Dominion for Augusta and Moongazer’s Sigil for Iuno, alongside a new Hunter’s Growl four-star weapon line.
• New area: Sanguis Plateaus – a highland hunting ground that unlocks during Chapter II Act VIII, complete with area events, photo spots, and exploration rewards.

  Chapter II Act VIII: “By Sun’s Burning Hand” (available now).
  Chapter II Act IX: “By Moon’s Fated Light” (unlocks September 17, server time).
• Fresh Echoes and Sonata sets – including Corrosaurus and the Crown of Valor/Law of Harmony three-piece bonuses.

  Area exploration “Hunt of Ash and Steel,” photo challenge “Prints of Plateaus,” and the tower-defense themed Tidal Defense Simulator.
• Quality-of-life upgrades
  Flight utility now usable in Jinzhou and the Black Shores, map tracking for minerals and collectibles, one-click reward claiming, adaptive trigger support for DualSense controllers, and various UI touch-ups.
• End-game tuning – new floors in Tower of Adversity, Ember mechanic overhaul for Whimpering Wastes, and expanded Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways memory zones.
• Maintenance compensation – 300 Astrite and 2 Crystal Solvent for anyone who created a character and unlocked mail before downtime; an additional 300 Astrite covers assorted bug fixes.
