World Of Warcraft Drops More Info On Dragonflight’s Drachtyr Evoker Class
Blizzard Entertainment offers up in-depth information on the Drachtyr Evoker as testing for the new hero class continues in Phase 2 of the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight alpha test.
“Created by Neltharion the Earth-Warder the essence of dragons was combined with the adaptability of the mortal races to create an elite soldier capable of switching from a draconic form to humanoid form. Long in a magical stasis, they are now awakening to a new threat within the Dragon Isles. It is in the Forbidden Reach that the dracthyr will start their journey to reclaim their fractured memories and face a new reality.”
The Drachtyr Evoker joins the Death Knight and the Demon Hunter as the third playable hero class in the long-running MMORPG. Creating a Drachtyr Evoker requires players to have the Dragonflight expansion and at least one non-Drachtyr character on the same realm. Only one Drachtyr character can be created per account per realm.
Imbued with the essence of the dragons, Drachtyr Evokers can wield the power of all five dragonflights that grants it a unique style of spell casting. They have two distinct specializations: Devastation for ranged DPS and Preservation for support healing. They also have access to Empowered abilities that allow them to charge up their skills to increase the potency of a spell. This can be done by holding down the appropriate keybinding or mouse button. The longer the spell is charged up the more powerful its effects or the more targets it could hit.
Drachtyr Evokers also have access to several racial abilities including to knock enemies back using their wings or tail, and the ability to soar and glide through the air for a limited time.
These are just some of the things that players can expect when the Drachtyr Evoker officially arrives with the Dragonflight expansion this December.
