Fatshark Games has injected Warhammer 40K: Darktide with several new features in preparation for its big launch at the end of the month. One of the highlights of the co-op shooter’s latest early access beta update is the addition of a basic crafting system which will allow players to upgrade their weapons and add a random perk using Plasteel and Diamantine that they can now find when out on missions.

“Crafting materials are now available throughout the missions you undertake on Tertium. Be sure to explore the world, and you may find the materials to pick up,” said Fatshark. “The resources collected are awarded to the entire team equally (everyone gets the same amount of resources, and there is no split depending on team size). As you explore the Hive City, you will find Plasteel, an exceedingly common material in the Imperium, and Diamantine, a much rarer material only seen on higher difficulty levels.”

Upgrades can be done through Tech Priest Hadron Omega 7-7 who can be found in the Shrine of Omnissiah in the player hub. The Shrine is open to players with a Trust level of 4 or higher.

End-of-Round cards (EOR) have also been added to provide you with more information on what you’ve unlocked during a run. The team has also released the game’s first batch of character and weapon skins for those who want to traipse through Tertium’s underbelly in style. Also, more grunts.

“Better variety of grunts when pushing multiple enemies. We know you love a good grunt,” wrote the devs in the patch notes.

Meanwhile, the pre-order beta is still in full swing and will run right up until Warhammer 40K: Darktide officially launches on November 30th.
