Torchlight: Infinite Launches Season 6, "The Frozen Canvas"

XD Games has released the sixth season of Torchlight: Infinite, titled "The Frozen Canvas," introducing a vibrant, artistic twist to the action RPG. Players are invited to dive into a monochromatic Netherrealm now sparkling with ice, where creativity meets combat. Since the launch of Season 6, the game's average playerbase on Steam has increased significantly. It went from peaking at ~500 concurrent players to hitting over 11,000 according to Steam Charts.
Torchlight: Infinite is available on both PC and Mobile. While it bears the "Torchlight" name, it's not developed by Runic, the U.S. studio behind the previous Torchlight games. Instead, it's developed by XD, a Chinese based studio. Still, despite not being developed by Runic, the game does build on the tried and true ARPG formula of allowing countless different kinds of builds.
Key Features of The Frozen Canvas:
- New Hero: Players can now control Selena, a bard with the unique ability to switch between defensive and offensive modes, offering dynamic gameplay strategies.
- Artistic Gameplay Mechanic: This season introduces a painting-based mechanic where players collect Snowpaper Fragments and magical paints to create custom maps. These painted maps come to life, serving as battlegrounds with exclusive rewards.
- Enhanced Customization and Rewards: Over 100 new support skill effects have been added, allowing for deeper character build customization. The season also revises the crafting system, focusing on non-legendary gear to provide more strategic crafting outcomes.
- Dynamic Environments: The icy landscapes of the Netherrealm are not just for show; players will interact with these environments, unlocking new areas, discovering treasures, and completing unique objectives.
"The Frozen Canvas" promises a blend of creativity and challenge, transforming the cold expanse of the Netherrealm into a colorful battleground. With strategic gameplay enhancements and a fresh artistic twist, this season aims to provide both new and returning players with a richer, more engaging experience.
