Sulake To Release 12,500 Unique Habbo Hotel NFT Avatars

Habbo Hotel developer Sulake is dipping its toes into the blockchain pond with plans to release 12,500 unique pixel art NFT avatars for the social MMO. The avatars will be randomly-generated and can be bought individually by players, fans, and digital collectors, with 1,000 avatars reserved exclusively for the Habbo Hotel community.

“The technology behind the NFTs provides tremendous security, giving greater control and a more defined ownership over digital Habbo merchandise. Fans of Habbo can now own and collect items that embed themselves within Habbo’s history and infrastructure. This is a natural evolution of the collection of digital items that has been an integral part of Habbo since the game first arrived on the internet over 21 years ago.”

When, where, and how these NFT avatars will be distributed will be announced in the near future. As for the environmental impact of these new tokens, Sulake has partnered with Offsetra who will organize ecological projects on behalf of the company to help offset the additional carbon footprint that will be generated from NFT transactions.
