Square Enix might be cutting costs by weeding out underperforming games but its definitely not skimping on this year’s Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival. Considering that this is the first time in two years that the event will be held in-person, the publisher hopes to bring in its largest audience ever and will be moving up from the hotel ballrooms of previous Fan Fests to a bigger venue – the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“We look forward to creating a show that can accommodate as many attendees as possible while still being as exciting as our previous events!” said Square Enix.

In addition to the contests and battle challenges of old, players can also look forward to concerts, dev panels, and a keynote from Naoki Yoshida during this year’s Fan Festival. The event will be held from July 28-29 and will also be streamed online for those who don’t want to make the trip all the way to Las Vegas or spend $199 on a ticket.

While Square Enix is hoping to draw in a large crowd, its also implementing measures to make sure that it doesn’t overbook the venue. As such, you’ll be required to enter a lottery via Showclix if you’re looking to score tickets to the event. Registration for the lottery is now open and will remain so until February 25th. Those lucky enough to be selected will be contacted by customer support by March 3rd and will be given the chance to buy up to two tickets or decline the offer if they change their mind. Leftover tickets will be sold to the general public after March 13th.

As for COVID precautions during the event, Square Enix says that masks and vaccinations are recommended but not required.
