[Update: 61k Players] PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds Breaks Into Steam's Top 10 With Over 57,000 Concurrent Players

Update: Steam is now reporting that the game has over 61,000 concurrent players as of 3:41 PM EST, putting it in 8th place on Steam.

PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds has been showing signs of becoming one of Steam's most popular games since it launched on Thursday with a 24-hour peak of over 40,000 concurrent players. Since then, it has slowly been on the rise and, today, it finally broke into Steam's Top 10. You can find both the SteamCharts numbers and Steam's own stats embedded below as images for posterity, but the short version is that it is currently ahead of Garry's Mod with over 57,000 concurrent players. For a game that just launched into Early Access a mere three days ago, that is insane.

Are you one of the more than 57,000 people playing PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds right now? Did you see this coming? Did it happen faster than you thought it would or slower than you thought it would? Do you think that it has a chance of dethroning H1Z1: King of the Kill, which, despite having a peak player count that is more than double its own, dropped to merely 20,000 players more than it at the time that it broke into the Top 10?
