One More Game Announces New ‘Real-Time Tactics’ Game - Spellcraft
One More Game, a studio founded by former Riot Games and ArenaNet developers in 2019, have announced their flagship game – Spellcraft. The studio has raised $22 million to fund the game’s development in a recently completed Series A funding round led by global venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Spellcraft is touted as both a real-time and strategy game but not an RTS and is described as a Real-Time Tactics game. The game promises a nearly limitless combination of heroes to suit any playstyle and a free-to-play business model without lootboxes, pay-to-win microtransactions, and gacha mechanics.
“From developers who brought you Warcraft, StarCraft, Magic: Arena, Guild Wars, and Diablo comes Spellcraft, a new type of competitive strategy game where players collect and command heroes from colliding worlds, and cast powerful spells to turn the tide of battle. It captures the most memorable moments from our favorite competitive games, refined into something entirely new.”
One More Game is now gearing up for an Alpha Preview event sometime in the near future and are now accepting sign-ups on the official site. As for the game’s release date, the team says that they’ll ship when they’re done.
