March of Giants, Amazon's New 4v4 MOBA, Begins Closed Alpha Testing

March of Giants, Amazon's new 4v4 MOBA, began closed alpha testing today and is scheduled to run through September 14. The game is available on Steam and anyone can request access. Time will tell if it proves successful, but given that its developed by Amazon, it definitely has big financial backing.

The game is currently averaging ~600 concurrent players, but this isn't a particularly useful figure as they aren't granting everyone access like many betas.

Given how well established games like League of Legends and Dota 2 are, I can't imagine there's any room in the PC MOBA market for a new entrant. Especially since there hasn't been a successful new player in well over a decade, and that's if we count Smite as a success, which is having its own issues.
