After 7 Hour Delay and Server Issues Lost Ark Officially Launches - Hits Nearly 1m Concurrent Users
While the Lost Ark head start program has been a massive success (over 530,000 concurrent users), Lost Ark officially launched today which means anyone can play the game without having to purchase a founders pack (though they're still available). Now that anyone can play for free the game's player base has shot up to nearly 1,000,000 concurrent players.
Lost Ark's official launch was delayed by ~7 hours due to "deployment issues" which also kept servers offline. To compensate players, anyone who logged into the game at least once will get 3 free days of 'Crystalline Aura' which provides players discounts on various services in-game.
To celebrate the launch of Lost Ark Prime Gaming is offer Prime members a free item pack which includes a Crystalline Aura, Amethyst Shard Pack and Battle Chest Bundle.
After having played lost Ark for a bit already myself (level 30), I can safely say the game is well worth checking out. It features top notch production value with fast paced fun action oriented combat. The leveling experience is also surprisingly fun. While still grindy and a bit repetitive, the pacing is great as players never feel like they're stuck in the same spot too long. Seriously, go play Lost Ark. It's easily one of the best free to play MMORPG launches in a long time.
“Together with Smilegate, we are proud to usher in millions of new players around the world to experience Lost Ark,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP, Amazon Games. “Lost Ark’s unique style of action-packed combat coupled with seemingly endless class customization options opens up nearly infinite new ways to play in a dynamic, ever-changing online universe—there are numerous new realms to discover and resources to compete for in this living fantasy world.”
