Lord Of The Rings Online’s Massive Return To Carn Dûm Update Is Now Live

Lord of the Rings Online sends players off to the slopes of the Mountains of Angmar where they’ll take on a returning threat to Middle-Earth in the fantasy MMORPG’s latest major update: Return to Carn Dûm. The update introduces three new fellowship dungeons set in the eponymous fortress city which will set the stage for the upcoming level 140 Gwathenrost raid.

“After suffering countless setbacks and defeats, the last remnants of the Iron Crown have returned to Carn Dûm, hoping to wield a lost artifact of the Witch-king of Angmar to win dominion over the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. Aid the Hill-men of the North and their allies in the fight to cast off the Iron Crown once and for all!”

“Players who wish to aid in the fight against the Iron Crown should travel to Bail Avarc in Angmar,” says Standing Stone Games. “Bail Avarc can be reached via the stable-masters at Esteldín, Gath Forthnír, and Rivendell. Bail Avarc can initially only be accessed via stable-master routes, but other options for Swift Travel are available for barter from the Stewards of the Iron-home.”

Standing Stone also notes that players won’t be able to complete Chapter 4 of the Angmar Reborn questline until the Gwathenrost, the Witch-king’s Citadel officially opens its doors.

Aside from the new instances, Return to Carn Dûm also introduces a long list of class balance changes, including the promised revamp of the Captain and Warden classes. The damage bonuses from Master and Damage modifiers have also been recalculated in addition to another round of monster play revamps, a major overhaul of power management mechanics, healer buffs, and new delvings.
