Game Director Ben Brode Announces The Next Hearthstone Expansion
Hearthstone Game Director Ben Brode talks about the past year’s events and the new things coming to the online CCG this year. On the top of the list is the end of the Year of the Mammoth and the start of the Year of the Raven.
“As the Hearthstone calendar turns, prepare yourselves for the Year of the Raven. The Year of the Raven will begin when we release our next expansion. […] The upcoming Year of the Raven will include three new expansions. We’re announcing that first expansion real soon.”
A number of card sets will become exclusive to Wild at the Start of the Year of the Raven namely: Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Karazhan, and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. Players will also get the chance to unlock a new Druid Hero – Lunara. Lunara can be earned by winning ten Standard matches in the new meta.
A few cards will also be promoted into the Hall of Fame. These include: Ice Block, Coldlight Oracle, and Molten Giant. Completing quests will also become easier when Year of the Raven rolls out. The devs are also working on a custom tournament system that will let players invite their friends to play in their very own Hearthstone tournament within the game client.
