ArenaNet is back this week with more news on the state of Guild Wars 2 news as part of their promise to communicate more with the community following End of Dragon’s release. Of significant note is an update on the Jade Sea encounter which has been a sore point for players since it first came out.

According to the studio, the success rate for the encounter has risen to 60% thanks to the recent balance changes. That’s a huge jump from the 15% success rate on launch week although the increase might be attributed to frustrated players simply avoiding the encounter altogether. The devs are also looking at making a pass at the meta event’s reward table and possibly adding a new Void Infusion to the Dragon’s End drops.

In World vs. World, the devs have finally addressed a bug that caused players to be booted from the queue. The team has also started work on a long-awaited World Restructuring feature that will allow multiple guilds to enter matchmaking together. They also report that they’re now in the early phases of designing a new round of rewards improvements for the large-scale PvP mode.

The team will also be reverting changes made to Jade Bot Scavenger Protocols which were made to combat an exploit but ended up negatively affecting World vs. World players. Starting April 19th, Jade Bots will once again be able to earn materials and trophies for player kills.

Over on the backend, DirectX 11 support, which is currently in opt-in beta, is now ready for full release and will be rolling out on May 10th. All new accounts created after the update’s release will have DX11 enabled by default. Existing players who didn’t opt-in to the beta will have to switch to DX11 manually from the graphics settings menu.

To cap off the update, the team says that they’re taking the week off for a well-deserved break to rest and recharge before diving in to new tasks and projects including the re-release of the first episode of Living World Season 1. That’s coming on April 19th alongside the Aetherblade Hideout Strike Mission Challenge Mode.
