Guild Wars 2 Gets New Legendary Weapons

A new announcement posted on the Guild Wars 2 blog today details a new set of legendary weapons that the game will be receiving. This second set of legendary weapons is being dubbed a "new legendary paradigm." The manner in which precursor weapons are acquired and legendary weapons are crafted have been changed to "take full advantage of the new Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns features and content."
The new precursors will be obtained only through the "precursor crafting journey." They will not be dropped anywhere. Additionally, certain "gameplay content and material requirements" specific to the Maguuma Jungle region will be required for all three tiers of precursors.
Each legendary weapon will require one precursor, as well as a Gift of Maguuma Mastery, a Mystic Tribute, and "a unique gift associated with the legendary weapon being made." The Gift of Maguuma Mastery will require "ingredients are all about playing in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns," rather than the base game. Players must complete each of the Heart of Maguuma Masteries, as well as several other requirements.
The "unique gift" will be a collection of dungeon tokens and "loosely related items or materials." They will be obtained exclusively through a "large collection achievement" that is only unlocked once "the collections and recipes associated with crafting your precursor weapon" have been completed.
The first three to be released will be the "celestially-themed" axe Astralaria, the "experimental energy themed" pistol H.O.P.E., and the "raven spirit themed" staff Nevermore, pictured above. For more information and pictures of the other new legendary weapons, head over to the announcement.
