Guild Wars 2 is celebrating the final months of summer with the return of its annual Festival of the Four Winds event. Adventurers are invited to take part in the festivities by making their way to the Labyrinthine Cliffs and the Crown Pavilion in Divinity’s Reach where they can participate in the usual array of returning activities, along with new ones such as the fishing tournament and skiff race.

This year’s event will also feature new rewards, including the new Zephyrite Shawl shoulder armor piece and the new Watchwork weapon set. Complete the Four Winds Customs meta-achievement to obtain the seasonal armor piece and your Watchwork weapon of choice. There’s also a small chance of finding tradeable weapons in Four Winds Prize bags which can be earned by completing the new daily achievements.

ArenaNet has also rolled out various class adjustments, game changes, and improvements to the new player experience. “We've been experimenting with some changes to the new player experience. You might have heard whispers of new players leveling more quickly than their friends or gaining access to the raptor mount early in their Tyrian adventuring career,” said ArenaNet. “After evaluating the effectiveness of these changes by digging through mountains of data, we're excited to make these first experiments permanent additions to the game.”

With the changes in place, players will now get access to the lizard mount at level 10 instead of level 80 and will no longer need to purchase the Path of Fire expansion to get it. Any expansion will do. Free players, on the other hand, will get to try out the lizard mount for 10 hours. After the trial, they’ll need to purchase any of the currently available expansions to continue using the mount.
