Guild Wars 2’s Expanded Weapon Proficiency Beta Test Is Now Live Until December 3

Guild Wars 2’s highly awaited and extremely hyped weapon expansion update is now officially in testing as ArenaNet kicks off its Expanded Weapon Proficiency Beta. The update features a new weapon type and new weapon skills for each class and is expected to arrive as part of the Secrets of the Obscure expansion’s next major update early next year.

“Each of our nine professions will have access to at least one new weapon and a smattering of new skills, which you can preview today,” ArenaNet announced. “Please keep in mind that since this is a beta test, there will be placeholder UI, art, and audio for some of the weapon skills.”

The beta test will run until 10 p.m. PST on December 3rd and is open to everyone with a Guild Wars 2 account, regardless of whether they own Secrets of the Obsure or any of the other previously released expansions.

Meanwhile, ArenaNet has made improvements to nearly every class in the live game, as well as relics, fishing, and Ranger pets. The team has also updated Secrets of the Obscure content to automatically unlock Chapter 11 for all characters on an account as soon as at least one character completes Chapter 6. The option will undoubtedly be extremely useful to players with multiple alts.
