Guild Wars 2 Kicks Off Dragon Bash 2023 And Preps For Another WvW Beta

Escape the summer heat and make your way to the frigid Nord capital of Hoelbrak as Guild Wars 2 kicks off its annual Dragon Bash festival. This year’s dragon-bashing celebration features the traditional lineup of mini-games including piñata-smashing, the Dragon Bash Rally, the Dragon Arena, and the extremely popular Hologram Stampede.
To keep things fresh, ArenaNet has updated the event’s achievement layout and introduced new weapons, mini-pets, and guild decorations that you’ll have the chance to unlock until the event ends on June 27th.
In addition to the Dragon Bash festivities, Guild Wars 2 players can also look forward to another World vs. World restructuring beta test this Friday. Testers will have the chance to earn rewards while exploring the revamped WvW experience. As a matter of fact, some of these new WvW features are already live in the game, such as the new WvW currency vendor and lockbox set.
“The next beta event will run from June 9 to June 23. We’ll be running two matchups in a row for the first time using the system, allowing us to test the one-up, one-down matching system at scale and validate matchmaking bug fixes,” explains the devs. “Assuming this test goes according to plan, we aim to run another beta test later this summer that introduces the first version of the long-awaited Alliances system, which allows multiple guilds to combine forces and be placed on a WvW team together.”
In the meantime, there’s a whole host of dragon-basing to be done in Hoelbrak. The full event details can be found on the Guild Wars 2 official site if you’re new or need a refresher.
