Guild Wars 2’s Dragon Bash Festival Goes Live As ArenaNet Revamps Dungeon Rewards
The citizens and warriors of Tyria are celebrating their hard-fought battles against the Elder Dragons as the annual Dragon Bash Festival officially kicks off in Guild Wars 2. This year, players will find it easier to collect participation rewards from the Hologram Stampede and gather the required daily zhaitaffy in a single trip.
They can also look forward to a whole host of new rewards, including a new Dragonbone weapon set, the Holographic Dragon Greaves, new rare weapon drops from the Dragon Coffers, new item rewards from the event vendor, and new guild decorations. The festivities will run until June 28th at noon PDT.
Meanwhile, the game’s latest update consolidates all Icebrood Saga daily achievements into one category, opens up the Special Forces Training Area to non-raid groups, and reworks dungeon rewards. All previous dungeon currencies have been removed and replaced by one standard currency: Tales of Dungeon Delving. Successfully completing any dungeon will now reward players with the new currency and previously earned currencies will automatically be converted to the new one upon logging in.
Players will also need to complete dungeon story modes and dungeon explorable modes before they can purchase its corresponding high-tier armor, weapons, and gear from the dungeon merchant. Accounts that have already completed the required content, however, won’t be required to do so again. Additionally, the final chest reward at the end of each explorable dungeon will now contain a guaranteed piece of rare equipment.
In case you missed the announcement, the Harvest Temple Strike Mission Challenge Mode which was originally supposed to launch with this update has been delayed to June 28th. The good news is that it gives you enough time to enjoy the Dragon Bash festivities and unlock the new event rewards.
