Guild Wars 2 Announces ‘Visions of Eternity’ Expansion Set for October 28, 2025

Guild Wars 2 is preparing to release its sixth expansion, Visions of Eternity, on October 28, 2025. Developer ArenaNet has outlined a variety of new content and features for the long-running MMORPG, continuing its trend of yearly expansions and system updates. This expansion will open up the previously unexplored island realm of Castora, bringing with it new areas, storylines, and gameplay customization options for both new and returning players.

Since its launch in 2012, Guild Wars 2 has built a reputation for its consistent updates, player-driven storytelling, and flexible class system. Visions of Eternity looks to build on this legacy by expanding the Homestead system, introducing new elite specializations, and offering additional mastery lines for mounts. The expansion will be available for $24.99, with major updates planned throughout 2026 at no extra cost.

New Homestead Plot: Players can claim a customizable plot on the beaches of Castora, expanding on the Homestead system introduced in the previous expansion, Janthir Wilds.
Elite Specializations: Each of the game’s nine professions will receive a new elite specialization, adding further depth and build options for character customization.
Skimmer Mount Upgrades: The aquatic skimmer mount will gain new abilities through three new mastery lines related to the Castora region.
Two New Maps: The launch will introduce two explorable maps set in Castora, featuring unique environments shaped by ancient magic.
Homestead Layout Feature: Players will be able to easily share and duplicate their custom homestead designs, provided they have the necessary decorations.
Ongoing Updates: ArenaNet plans three major updates in 2026, bringing additional maps, raid encounters, story extensions, new legendary gear, and earnable items in the Wizard’s Vault.
Story: The narrative begins with rumors of a magical, ley-rich island. Players will uncover the motives of the Inquest, a recurring antagonist group, as they venture into Castora alongside their allies.
