Guild Wars 2 Announces the Mount Week & Design-a-Weapon Contest!

Happy Birthday Guild Wars 2! On August 28th, 2012, Guild Wars 2 launched for the world to enjoy! To celebrate its 5th birthday, the GW2 devs have announced two major events that will take place - Mount Week, and the Design-a-Weapon Contest!

On August 29th, 31st, and September 3rd, Guild Wars 2 will publish a 'Mounts Developer Diary and blog,' 'Mounts on Guild Chat,' and the Crystal Desert and the beginning of Story Week, respectively. They also preview an adorable Quaggan Mug that you can reserve for yourself!

In the face of such adorableness, lets not forget the Design-a-Weapon Contest! Accepting submissions from today until October 8th, 11:59 PM Pacific Time, players of Guild Wars 2 will have their chance to submit up to 3 weapon concepts, and 20 finalists will be chosen! Each of the finalists will receive various prizes - gems, art books, shirts, and more! However, of the 20, only 3 designs will be chosen. Those final designs will serve as inspiration for new in-game weapons! Good luck to those who enter - we can't wait to see your designs in Guild Wars 2!
