Grand Theft Auto 6 First Official Trailer Released Early After It Was Leaked
Rockstar Games has suffered from a case of premature err… publication as its highly awaited Grand Theft 6 trailer was leaked prior to tomorrow’s big reveal. Not to be deterred, the studio has decided to release the game’s first official trailer earlier than expected, asking fans to “watch the real thing.”
Grand Theft Auto 6 takes players back to Vice City, a fictional version of Miami and Miami Beach that was first popularized in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City way back in 2002. The trailer teases a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired storyline set in a modern version of the city. It also shows off the game in glorious 4K with markedly better graphics than Grand Theft Auto 5, from the character models and environments to the lighting and shadows. Of course, the trailer is mostly cinematics so I’m curious to see how the actual gameplay looks like.
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Rockstar Games Founder Sam Houser. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
The trailer also confirmed a vague launch window of 2025 which puts its release 12 years after the last Grand Theft Auto game came out. The game will be launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but if history serves, it will likely make its way to PC a few months later.
And now, without further ado, we present to you the first official Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer.
