Genshin Impact’s Fifth Anniversary Update Adds Nod-Krai Region

Hoyoverse has rolled out Version Luna I for Genshin Impact, introducing the frigid region of Nod-Krai just in time for the game’s fifth anniversary. The open-world action RPG, first released in 2020, has made a habit of debuting a new nation each year, and Nod-Krai completes Teyvat’s seven-region map. Players who finished Liyue’s story arc can head straight into the new Archon Quest that pits them against fresh threats while expanding the game’s long-running Fatui Harbinger storyline.
Alongside the new area, three characters join the playable roster, anniversary rewards go live, and Hoyoverse’s community showcase HoYoFair returns later this month. Below is a quick look at what Version Luna I brings.
- New region: Nod-Krai – A snow-covered landscape where the Fatui Harbinger “Marionette” exerts control and a plot to harness lunar power unfolds.
- Main story chapter – The Archon Quest continues, featuring allies like Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and encounters with familiar faces such as Columbina, now revered locally as the Moon Maiden.
- Three playable characters
- Lauma – 5-star Catalyst user with Dendro abilities that trigger the new Lunar-Bloom elemental reaction.
- Flins – 5-star Polearm wielder whose Electro attacks gain extra effects under a full moon.
- Aino – 4-star Claymore engineer recruitable for free by progressing through the new quest line.
- Event Wishes – First phase features Lauma alongside a Nahida rerun; second phase spotlights Flins, Aino, and Yelan.
- Exploration perks
- Character-specific world interactions such as animal assistance for Lauma and Wild Hunt detection via Flins’ lantern.
- “Meeting Points” system that lets players witness slice-of-life moments between party members.
- Anniversary rewards – Free choice of a 5-star Standard Wish character, 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, and region-themed gadgets delivered through in-game mail.
- HoYoFair: Parallels Meet – A two-hour fan art showcase premieres September 20, featuring animated shorts, music performances, and cameos from Japanese voice actors.
