Frozen Flame continues to evolve as indie devs Dreamside Interactive introduces several new features and content to the Early Access survival fantasy MMORPG. The latest game update adds new abilities, a new floating building module, and Mystic Cubes.

Players now have access to two new spells in the Ability Tree, Bastion which grants a 10-second protective barrier and health regeneration, and Warrior’s Call which can be used to taunt surrounding enemies. The Earth Stomp ability has also received a visual and audio update.

In addition to new skills, players can now build floating platforms to construct bridges between the game’s floating islands or even a floating house or strongholds. The only downside to using them to build all kinds of floating stuff is that they decay faster than regular non-floating modules.

“Back in the day some priests had forseen the appearance of wind currents, reaching from the frozen wasteland of Arkana all the way up to the flying islands. It wasn't an impressive foresight, but those winds proved to be useful, making it possible to upkeep the flight height while traveling between the islands.”

Lastly, players now have the chance to find Mystic Cubes that appear at night in various locations across the flying islands. These shiny cubes are quite rare and contain a special reward for anyone lucky enough to find them. “Just getting out of your shelter to gaze into the skies to seek for the Cubes' beacons is worth your while,” said Dreamside.

The latest update also comes with a whole host of other gameplay additions such as a new resource called Flame Essence, new islands, new portals, including one for the Sanctuary, haunted houses, and new goods from the Hermit. Crosshairs for staff weapons have also been reintroduced along with the teleporting function of Returnal Plinths.
