Final Fantasy XIV’s “Promise of Tomorrow” Update Launches with new Alliance Raid, Dungeons, and PvP Map

Square Enix has pushed live Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow, for Final Fantasy XIV. The update continues the post-Dawntrail storyline and expands the ongoing crossover raid series, Echoes of Vana’diel, which pays homage to 2002’s Final Fantasy XI. Players can dive into new main scenario quests, tackle a fresh dungeon, and square off against Seiryu in a revamped Unreal trial.

Patch 7.3 also sets the stage for follow-up patches 7.31 and 7.35, which will roll out gathering-focused content, a new Deep Dungeon, and more side stories in the months ahead.

Highlights of today’s update:

  • Main Scenario Quests – The next chapter picks up after Dawntrail, moving the narrative toward its post-expansion arc.
  • Alliance Raid: San d’Oria – The Second Walk – Part two of the Echoes of Vana’diel series revisits a classic FFXI city with 24-player encounters.
  • Dungeon: The Meso Terminal – A new four-player instance tied to the main story.
  • Trial – A fresh fight with Normal and Extreme difficulties (Square Enix is still keeping the boss’s identity quiet).
  • Unreal Trial: The Wreath of Snakes – Seiryu returns at level 100 for veteran players chasing faux leaves.
  • Treasure Dungeon: Vault Oneiron – A roulette-style instance offering loot and party-wide roulette rooms.
  • Crystalline Conflict Arena: Bayside Battleground – Adds new terrain hazards to the 5-on-5 PvP mode as Series 9 begins.
  • Quality-of-life tweaks – Chat bubbles, Phoenix Down adjustments, and expanded Duty Support for Cutter’s Cry.

Looking ahead, Patch 7.31 will introduce the planet Phaenna for Cosmic Exploration and kick off the Phantom Weapon enhancement quests, while Patch 7.35 brings Pilgrim’s Traverse, the Yok Huy allied society quests, and more Hildibrand antics.
