Final Fantasy XIV Kicks Off Its 10th Anniversary ‘Tales Under The New Moon’ Story Series

Final Fantasy XIV is celebrating its 10th anniversary with another anniversary story series called Tales Under the New Moon. The first short story in the series, titled “As Azure Fades”, recounts the story of Ishgard’s first Dragoon, Haldrath, and his death as experienced by Estinien Varlineau in a drunken dream.

While it isn’t necessary reading to understand the current plot of the game, it does offer more insight into the game’s lore and Ishgard’s history. Square Enix has three more short stories planned in the series which you can expect over the next few weeks, with the final story dropping on September 15th.
