Final Fantasy XIV Increases Weekly Tomestone Cap And Removes Other Gameplay Restrictions

final fantasy xiv mmorpg patch 6.25 new emotes

Now that Final Fantasy XIV is in the final leg of its ongoing story arc, Square Enix has lifted several gameplay restrictions to allow players to make the most of their remaining time on Eorzea before they're whisked away to another continent in this summer's Dawntrail expansion.

Yesterday’s update bumped up the weekly Allagan tomestone cap to 900, which in effect now allows players to farm tomestones to their hearts content. The weekly loot limit for the Savage version of Pandaemonium: Anabaseios has also been removed along with its entry limit and restrictions on treasure coffers found in the instance.

Additionally, the Thaleia raid has now been added to the Alliance Raids duty roulette and the parallel instances of Old Sharlayan, Radz-at-Han, and Thavnair that were added to prevent congestion have now been disabled.

PvP players will also be able to win Fields of Glory battles faster following an increase to the amount of data received from killing an enemy and a reduction in the amount of data needed to win.

Meanwhile, Square Enix is gearing up for the start of open beta testing for the Xbox Series X|S version on February 21. The playtest will function similar to the free trial on PC and will be open exclusively to “new” FFXIV players. The studio didn’t say anything about existing players creating new accounts to get in, so you can probably get away with it if you want to check out the next-gen console version or if you’re looking to eventually make the switch.
