Square Enix is gearing up for the release of Final Fantasy XIV’s next major update next week with the preliminary patch notes for Patch 6.2: Buried Memory. As with previous preliminary patch notes, a few details have been omitted to prevent spoilers. A few other details like balance adjustments and new items also remain hidden until the final patch notes are released, but there’s still a ton of stuff you can preview ahead of their release, including the new Island Sanctuaries.

“The island sanctuary allows you to create your own personal paradise amidst the natural beauty of the Cieldalaes,” reads the patch notes. “Here you can collect resources and materials, build accommodations, grow crops, and more. The goods produced on your island can also be exchanged for various rewards. Cultivate the land, or enjoy the slow life as your minions roam free─the choice is entirely up to you.”

The patch notes also offers information on the new main scenario quests, side quests, and the new lineup for dungeon roulettes, including the newly-added roulette for level 90 dungeons.

Square Enix is also gearing up the return of The Rising event to mark the long-running MMORPG’s 9th anniversary. That’s coming on August 27th and will be running until September 12th. In the meantime, you can check out the Buried Memory preliminary patch notes on the Final Fantasy XIV official site.
