Final Fantasy XIV Finally Coming to Xbox in Spring 2024

At Fanfest today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV is finally coming to Xbox (Series X and S) in Spring 2024. The platform expansion should bring the epic MMORPG to an entirely new audience. The Xbox version will feature cross-play and promises lightning fast loading speeds as the game will be optimized for the new platform.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft's Games division, made an appearence at Fanfest and hinted at future partnerships with Square Enix. An open beta for the Xbox version of Final Fantasy XIV will be coming with Patch 6.5X. Like the PlayStation version, Final Fantasy XIV will be available on a download-only basis (no physical copies).
While the Xbox doesn't have a large audience in Japan, it remains a big player in the U.S. and Europe and should help expand the game's playerbase.
