After three months of beta testing, Icarus is finally ready for full release and will be launching on Steam on December 4th. The session-based co-op survival game was initially scheduled to launch in August but developer Rocketwerkz decided to push it back to November to ensure that the game is, in the studio’s own words, “the very best it can be.”

Since then, Rocketwerkz has been running a series of beta tests that saw the game rise to become one of Steam’s top-selling games during its first beta weekend and one of Steam’s Top 10 Most Wishlisted Games.

“Icarus is a session-based survival game for up to eight co-op players where players drop onto the broken terraformed planet of Icarus. Initially equipped with nothing, players drop to the planet for missions lasting from hours to weeks, before returning to orbit to progress their character and tech for the next drop. Developer RocketWerkz has also confirmed the recommended specs to experience Icarus’ beautiful but deadly environments.”

The team will be holding one last beta weekend test before the game officially launches. That’s scheduled for tomorrow, November 21st. For those who want to get into the final beta, the game is still available for pre-order on Steam and is currently available at 10% off, dropping the price down to $26.99 until December 14th.
